Are you thinking about obtaining an accreditation in 2022? If so, you may want to consider joining the 1,000+ payments professionals who have earned the National Check Professional (NCP) accreditation. Checks are still important with billions being written each year valued at trillions of dollars. NCPs are payments experts who provide value through their knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations, expertise in resolving complex check issues and understanding of potential risk to their organization. The NCP designation also opens doors – advancement within your current position or other job opportunities.

Who should become an NCP?
An NCP is known for his or her exceptional check payment knowledge, including image processing. So, if your job responsibilities include check or image operations, treasury, product, fraud or risk, you would be a prime candidate to become an NCP.

While not a requirement, it is recommended an individual seeking the NCP accreditation have spent a minimum of two years working in the payments industry before taking the exam and have a desire to gain expertise in the check field.

What are the 2022 NCP Exam dates?
The exam is administered over a three-week period, which allows you to select a date and time that works best with your schedule. The 2022 NCP Exam dates are April 16th through May 7th. Administered electronically at various test locations across the country, the exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions. For more information, click here.

How easy is it to maintain the NCP accreditation?
The accreditation is valid for five years, and you must earn 50 continuing education credits plus attend three ECCHO workshops throughout the accreditation period. Obtaining credits can be done effortlessly by attending EPCOR classes and conferences as well as ECCHO workshops. And if you’re an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP), in most cases, the credits you earn for the NCP accreditation will be eligible for AAP and APRP continuing education credits.
